Education to the Tribal & Poor Students
A sizeable percentage of poor students in Maharashtra face serious difficulties in going to school. About 1300 schools have been shut down. As per the last National Achievement Survey (NAS), almost 18% school going children of class III to class- VIII of government and its aided schools are affected.
In remote areas children have to walk several kilometers to attend school. We at Palavi, are making every effort to make basic education available to every Tribal & poor child in Purandar, Taluka Saswad, Pune. We have built a hostel for 50 children along with schooling in Purandar. Basic facilities are freely extended to the under-priviledged children of the nearby villages. It is an on-going activity and we plan to increase it to 300 in next 3 years.
